WHAT DID I THINK: 5 out of 5 Stars:
“You need her. Just her. Nothing else.”
I saw the reviews on this book before I started reading it. I was leery to pick it up and read it, but my friend told me that even though I would have some issues with parts of the story, overall I would love it. I even remember when she was reading it before I knew anything about the story, she would text me “the heroine is making some stupid mistakes. How can she like this guy?? UGH, but I can’t stop reading.” When I picked up this book that is how I felt.
“Ignoring my mind’s voice, I look at my prey. She’s the reason I am the way I am.”
Twitch is a complex man. Why does he want to hurt Lexi? We do not know and that is what makes this book worth ready. It is a puzzle, one I wanted to solve. When I thought that we were in the clear with Lexi and Twitch…NO, something would happen and I would be like “what is going on???”
Is Twitch a bad guy??? I think. I don’t know. When I think he is bad, he turns around and does something good and not only for Lexi but you see he has a compassion and heart for others. BUT then he does things or says things that you are like “where did that come from???”
“He is, after all, a sociopath.”
What about Lexi? Okay the girl makes such bad decisions with this man, but she is a crazy in lust and love. However, Lexi does not annoy me. Shedoes not bother me. I actually like her. She is a social worker and it is just in her nature to help especially those who thinks need her help…like Twitch.
What Lexi does not know are Twitch’s intentions. I don’t even know his intentions and the book is written in first person dual POVs.
The sex scenes were steamy and not overdone.
The switch in POVs were perfectly timed. Sometimes we just got a paragraph or two of only one of the characters. Brilliantly done.
The heroine friends, Nikki and David, did not annoy me.
All I can say is that I loved it. I may have not agreed with everything, but I loved reading it. Did not want it to stop. I enjoyed it. I did not care for Bella Aurora’s WILLING CAPTIVE. I hated the heroine in that book. She was whiny and just irritated me, but the story was well written so I knew I would enjoy a Bella Aurora book as long as it did not have the heroine from WILLING CAPTIVE in it.
I loved the ending/cliffy not sure what to call it since I am not sure if there is going to be a sequel. I don’t know if there can be a sequel.
Anyway, I loved it.
